This week's vlog is a sneak peak into behind the scenes of what happens when I'm shooting myself. I needed my phone for the scene so I didn't get to record the actual scene but you can see what I have to do to set up my shot:)

Here is vlog II! I rambled way too long so I cut it into two parts--this is part I.

~ I synched audio to video in this! Well, I tried anyway.
~ I say 'hey guys' every time I start recording. I will try for more originality next time.
~ This is still quite the process.

An experiment called Stuck At Home

3/21/2016

Comments

I have decided to do an experiment. I am going to shoot a film. All by myself. It's a short film written by Andrew Genaille called Stuck at Home. I'm doing this because I bought a little starter camera to practice with because I want to produce more films, however I know very little about anything that has to do with video and audio (Exhibit A: I so screwed up the audio in this, my very first vid). But I want to learn...

The 40th annual American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco

12/12/2015

Comments

The second film Festival A Big Black Space was accepted into was the American Indian Film Festival in San Francisco, November 8-14. This was extremely exciting for me because this particular film festival has been around for a long time-this was its 40th anniversary. Plus, I had never been to San Francisco before and always wanted to go. One of my dreams for my acting career is to be able to travel for work and it's beginning to come true:) --

Comments

For those of you that don't know, I wrote and produced and starred in my first short film this year called A Big Black Space. It's my first foray into filmmaking and I'm very proud of it. The film had its world premiere at the inaugural Tulsa American film festival in Tulsa, Oklahoma on October 17, 2015. I flew down to Tulsa that weekend and had a wonderful time--

Manahatta: A dream come true

6/1/2014

It was an afternoon in March when I received an email from a casting director of The Public Theater with a subject line that read: "Offer for the role of Jane/Le-le-wa'you".

That's an actor's dream come true (or mine, anyways) -- to A) just get offered a role without having to audition for it and B) that it was for a place like The Public Theater. At this point in my career, even though I've only  been working in New York for a few years, I'm already getting to the point where a good chunk of my theatre roles have been right out offered to me and I haven't had to audition for them. The Public Theater is also on my "bucket list" of theatres to work at so that was huge for me. It's the most prestigious Off Broadway theatre in New York and to get cast in a production at the Public was a huge accomplishment especially this early in my career.

Native Hoop Magazine interview

4/30/2014

I did an interview with Yvonne Dennis of Native Hoop Magazine. She told me the owner James Morales is a big fan of mine and has wanted to have me in the magazine for a long time so Yvonne came to a performance 'Miss Lead' and we chatted after. I am honoured to be part of this magazine! You can read the full interview here on pages 2, 6 & 7.
